Hey Guys

its time for another review and this time its for the new 360 title; Borderlands.

first up is Gameplay

For the most part borderlands has been advertised as the new RPS or "Role Playing Shooter" to you and me. I seems to feel that it is the first of its kind because of the face you play as a particular character and level up through missions and killing enemies. However lets just point out that this has been done with Fallout 3 where you play thr role of a vault dweller.

anyway that obviouse hole in the advertising lets move on to the review. The gameplay consists of firstly you, the player choosing your class of character. This is similar to the mechanic that MMORPG's follow, With borderlands the player can choose between;
Lilith - the Siren, whose abilities closly resemble some kind of magic and she prefers fire as a weapon, nice. Next is Roland - the soldier, he specialzes in rifels and shotguns and is also able to deploy a real kick ass turret to help through fights. Brick - the beserker, he can go invicible and destroy the foe with his fists and prefers explosives and finaly Mordecai - The hunter, if you like sniper rifels and revolvers, then this is the guy for you he also uses his eagle to aid him in battle.

the gameplay though comes down to lots and lots of mission bases objectives, the missions have their own levels so if you want to beat them easily, you had better be five levels above. also as you level up you gain a single point to upgrade your characters abilities to either increase medic, infantry or support skills these three skills are diffferent for all the classes but basically come down to the same thing.

Also players can join with upto four friends making the creatures of Pandora stronger and they give out bigger rewards such as more money or better, rarer weapons.


Graphics

The game Runs on the unreal engine so it easy to guess that its graphics are lush and well presented. The game sports a strange "pen drawn" look to it where anything that is shaded by the texture is done so with lines. Also everything has a black outline but nothing is really cel-shaded it makes for a very strange but somehow beautiful looking game.


Story there are NO spoilers here

The story is about a planet on the edge of human sivilization called Pandora, you are a treasure hunter and it has been rumoured for senturies that there is a Vault on Pandora that Contains many tresures unknown to human kind, the vault was supposedly placed on pandora by aliens though nobody really knows for sure. it is up you you and your team of tresure hunters to look for this loot and claim it as your own or share it with others I guess.


Conclusion
from this I think that you can tell what this game its about and even though it feels more like and MMO is still great, I reccommend it to all.

borderlands is out now and has an 18 age certificate.
